Week 16 (December 15 -19, 2008)

The Fourth Grade holiday party is this Friday. I need to coordinate with my Room Mom about the precise time it will begin.

Market Day was a blast. There’ll be more about Market Day later once all the digital pictures are compiled.

Progress reports for the second quarter for Mr. T’s classes are in the Monday Folder.

Every Monday, parents should look for these two things:

Star of the Week. Wednesday, December 17: Emmi. Each star will need to talk briefly about the photographs and artifacts they bring in to share and field questions from the crowd. Next year’s Star is Caylin.

Math 65. Problem sets 63 – 65 will be due as homework this week. They will test on Thursday.

Daily Oral Language (DOL). Students edit two sentences daily in class and will test on some of the same sentences this Thursday. Additionally, students will edit two similar sentences weekly for a quiz grade (to see if they can apply their newfound editing knowledge).

Spelling. No testing this week.

Vocabulary. No testing this week.

Shurley Grammar. No testing this week, however, students will be classifying pattern 2 sentences.

All testing in my classes will occur this Thursday as follows:

• Daily Oral Language (DOL). They’ll practice test on some of the sentences edited each morning in class. Click on the links for:

• Spelling. Students will test on their individualized spelling list.

• Open Court. The reading comprehension exam will be comprised of short answer and multiple choice questions. It is always an “open book” test.
